Elden ring runes are essential when leveling up a Shardbearer or taking on Divine Tower challenges, and there are a few spots around the world where they can be obtained for farming purposes.

Your farming location could offer the potential for earning many runes quickly and efficiently, here are a few strategies and tips for making the most out of them.

Caelid

Caelid is an unstable region located in the northeast corner of Elden Ring that provides players an opportunity to level up while honing their rune-casting skills.

Caelid is home to a small legacy dungeon, a roaming boss, and numerous minor dungeons. Additionally, two Minor Erdtrees can be found here along with two Minor Erdtree Gardens as well as two massive swamps filled with Scarlet Rot. Furthermore, Selia town itself can also be found here.

Players can enter Caelid through either Farum Greatbridge or Bestial Sanctum's northern gate - either way they will reach Elder Dragon Greyoll's Region eventually.

Players will find several incredible elden ring runes farming locations in Caelid, including the Smoldering Church in the southwest corner and Fort Faroth as sites of grace near its eastern edge. One spot, in particular, stands out as being especially rewarding with minimal effort: this location allows players to gain over 40,000 elden ring runes mod within minutes when using Golden Scarabs to harvest runes!

Stormveil Castle

Stormveil Castle provides an ideal location for mid-game rune farming, even those not looking to engage in combat. After fast travelling to the Secluded Cell Site of Grace and dismounting from Torrent, head west along the cliff face until a sphere appears below it - doing a loop around here (i.e. going from the sphere back to Torrent then back again) could yield up to 2,000 runes in approximately 30 seconds!

This location requires a bit of levelling to achieve, and should be completed after exploring Limgrave and Weeping Peninsula. Once inside, kill any enemies near barrels (be wary though; one may use crossbow to shoot at you!), clear out large staircases, loot corpse near arch doorway before entering building where Godrick the Grafted can be defeated for one of your first Great Runes in Elden Ring!

Liurnia of the Lakes

Liurnia of the Lakes is an impressive location outside Limgrave that provides significant game content. Home to an immense misty lake and Academy of Raya Lucaria with many buildings sinking beneath its waters, as well as several smaller locations that add further content for questlines or simply provide side content, Liurnia offers something for every game choice here.

At first, this area's first stop should be the Church of Vows. Here, you can atone for past wrongs by reviving NPCs whom you have killed and hear stories related to the Lands Between from Pastor Miriel herself. Additionally, she offers insight into its lore.

From here, head down the path from the church to discover Laskyar Ruins. At Laskyar Ruins you will meet a merchant selling lanterns, as well as an act of grace which gives you access to East Liurnia map fragment which allows early entry to Mausoleums in later levels of game play.

Mohgwhyn’s Palace

Mohgwhyn's Palace is an elite rune farming area within Elden Ring that can offer some of the highest returns. But it can be very challenging to reach early on; enemies in Mohgwhyn's Palace tend to be tougher than in Caelid and Liurnia and can cause significant amounts of damage.

Players can reach Mohgwhyn's Palace either by completing White Mask Varre's quest, or through the use of a teleporter - with the latter option providing the fastest and simplest access.

To use the teleporter, players need to head to the Inner Consecrated Snowfield Site of Grace and locate an area south of a fallen tree in the center. Once there, players will encounter a Sanguine Noble which must be defeated before looking for a blood-covered portal and interacting with it to be teleported back to Mohgwyn Palace's cliffside - this method being particularly advantageous if players have completed Varre's questline or possessing Pureblood Knight Medallions.
